Digital X-Rays

The images are taken much like traditional film, but instead of toxic chemicals to process the film, we use a computer scanner that integrates into your digital dental file.  The radiation level needed for this system is approximately 50% of traditional film.  We are then able to place the picture on a large monitor for you to view and see exactly what Dr. Wheeler is describing to you.  Many patients find this very helpful in understanding the condition that they have gotten themselves in.

Intra-Oral Camera

Dr. Wheeler uses this camera to allow him to magnify his view and record your current condition.  Often, he also uses an extra-oral, SRL camera to record more complicated or interesting cases.  This is also a great benefit you his patients.  How often have you wondered "What in the world did the dentist mean by a crack in my tooth, how big, where?"  Well, you can see it all for yourself.

Sterilization Procedures Monitored Weekly

Wheeler Family Dentistry submits weekly samples to the University of Louisville Sterilizer Monitoring Program.  Everyone at the office is obsessed with making sure we can provide a safe and healthy environment for our patients.  We treat our close friends, family and even the staff with the same instruments we use for our other patients.  We do not take any special precautions, because we make sure that everyone has the same universal precautions that everyone deserves.  If you have any questions about  the cleaning procedures in the office, please ask.  We will be more than happy to share this information with you.
